Service Project in Callan, Ireland
June 18-25, 2008
From June 18-25, 2008, a group of 18 Exonians traveled to Callan, Ireland, to contribute their time and talent in support of the Camphill community for those with special needs run by Patrick Lydon ’68. The group of alumni/ae, students, parents and Academy staff helped to clean out an 1840s workhouse complex that, before being converted to a civic-medical center in the fall, will be the setting for a unique theater project being produced with the support of Irish playwright Tom Kilroy, who grew up nearby.
The album below features photos submitted by Jan Woodford, a member of the alumni/ae affairs deptartment at Exeter.
Jon Kiger '81 has a website about the project that includes photos, podcasts, video and blogs.
Margaret Hartigan '93 has also posted an album of photos online.
Liz Mullard '77 has also created a Callan project group page on Snapfish: http://www1.snapfish.com/groupview/groupid=2777950/groupownerid=37907020/t_=14274683
