The
Curriculum Review
Goal: $500,000
Exeter is completing its first school-wide curriculum
review in roughly 20 years. The review has reaffirmed
Harkness teaching and Exeter's rigorous skill-based
curriculum, while also identifying enhancements to
be made to keep pace with our changing world. In
general, the recommendations focus on computer science
and algorithmic thinking; learning through community
service; and engaging students to think about powerful
forces shaping our times, including globalization,
environmental questions, technology and cultural
pluralism in the United States.
The faculty is currently refining its recommendations
and beginning to develop specific programs that will
enrich the curriculum. This component of The Exeter
Initiatives will prepare the school financially to
implement new programs stemming from the review.
It will also allow departments to pursue continuous
curricular assessment and innovation for the future.
