John Karrel runs the Marketing & Advertising
practice of Glocap Search in New York City. He
oversees searches for a range of consumer marketers,
advertising agencies and brand consulting firms.
Previously, he was principal of his own search
firm, John Karrel & Associates, also specializing
in the marketing/advertising field.
He attended Phillips Exeter, graduating in 1971
and living in Dow House during his two years there.
A 1975 graduate of Yale College, Karrel spent many
years as owner/manager of a retail New Haven business
specializing in music and supplies for classical
musicians, modeled after Patelsen's, which is located
across from Glocap's 56th Street entrance. After
receiving his MBA from UCLA, he worked in advertising
account management for both Doyle Dane Bernbach
and Saatchi & Saatchi.
His avocations include being a Little League coach,
VP of a New York City co-operative board, and Attendance
Co-Chair for his 35th PEA reunion in April of 2006.
