Minty Conant

CPA/Operations Manager, Lydall Thermal Acoustical

Minty worked as a CPA in Vermont from 1989-1994.
In 1994 she was hired as the chief financial officer
of Engineered Thermal Systems, a start-up company
in Vermont that focused on products for the automotive
industry. Minty was hired to do financing for the
rapidly growing company, but because it was a startup,
she was able to do many things such as new product
development, purchasing, and human resources as
well. Engineered Thermal Systems was bought out
by Lydall Thermal Acoustical in 1998 and Minty
was given the top job of Operations Manager. She
has been managing Lydall's Vermont facility for
the last seven years. In the last year she has
also been managing Lydall's Hamptonville North
Carolina facility.
In addition, Minty has served on the Barnet School
Board in Barnet Vermont for 8 years. She is currently
serving on the Vermont Economic Progress Council,
the Vermont Recruitment Council, and the Small
Business Council. In addition she is part of a
statewide team that's working on a 20 year plan
for electrical energy in the state of Vermont.
Minty was also named Business Person of the Year
in 2005 for her region in Vermont.
Minty was educated at Exeter (during the first
year girls were admitted); Hampshire College, where
she earned a BA in Biology in 1975; Lyndon State
College, where she earned a BS in Accounting in
1988; and Plymouth State College, where she earned
her MBA in 1998.
